Spells, Charms and Exorcisms – the energy that is

Looking through books from my library, searching for additional information about creation of protective medicine bags, within Practical Psychic Self-Defense, I stumbled upon text of personal exorcism from Orthodox Book of Divine Offices. Reading over it, I experienced something unusual.

Before moving to details, let me quote the self-exorcism first:

O, eternal God, who has redeemed the race of man from the captivity of the Devil, deliver your servant {your name} from all the workings of unclean spirits. Command the evil and impure spirits and demons to depart from the soul and body of your servant {your name} and not to remain nor hide in him. Let them be banished from the creation of your hands in your own holy Name and that of your only begotten Son and of y0ur Life-Giving Spirit, so that, after being cleansed from all demonic influence, he may live godly, justly, and righteously and may be counted worthy to receive the Holy Mysteries of your only begotten Son and our God, with whom you are blessed and glorified together with the All-Holy and good and life-giving spirit now and ever and unto the ages of ages. Aman.

What I have felt

When I read over the text, I begun to feel strong psychic energies emanating from my body (and I was reading it aloud). I’m not really sure what does it mean, but I believe somehow I managed to rise vibrations of my won energies. It forced my mind to recall similar events. Always, when I read over old spells, and magical rites, I got the same feeling of increasing vibrations through entire body.

I never really paid attention to it, but I believe it proves the theory that rites are somehow “programmed” to increase vibrations of psychic energies, that is why during magick rituals it is required to speak rites aloud.

Accident, common truth or unique skill?

It was definitely an interesting experience, yet I cannot say if it’s unique for me, or is it a common phenomena and well known truth. So far, in no source I run onto, I managed to find any information about magical rites rising vibrations in such way that an energy worker can sense it.

Anyway, this gives me important lesson – rites of any type must be always spoken aloud.

Hello,
Why is it that people who use magick manipulate their psychic energies in an exorcism or spell using words, gestures and rituals and items when we as psions use thoughts and visualization to affect our world?

Different school of thoughts – as always, it’s all based on intends – people who use magick have learned to use words and other “tools” to increase their focus on task, therefore – enforce their intends. Psychics never learned tools of the trade, they act solely on their thoughts.

These rigtes have a similar affect on me. I feel the connection though and I beleive it has to do with key phrases, a lot like what happenes when you move someplace forgen and start having dreams in their language instead of your own (a very connom phenomenon). So for instence God and only begotten son are very used phrases and you can envoke the power in such beleifs by using the energies stored in those words.

I’ve read up on this a little in the past. Some magicians say that before they can get to performing their ritual, they have to “charge” everything. The circle, the oils, the herbs. They even said they had to charge their gestures and words. This magician said he called for the Goddess’ divine energy(it was a wiccan site). Could it be possible that this could transfer over to psionics as far as charging words, phrases, chants and gestures by using our psychic energy to do so?

Heck, why not? It’s still the same energy that is being used to charge things, only the methods are different in my understanding.
