People dealing with paranormal often gather into groups, we all know this. Many, if not all of these groups do have their own websites. But turns out not every group really know what elements should be placed on such site, yet don’t worry. I’m going to share some tips regarding paranormal investigations team’ website with you.
List of members and their bio
People should know how many members there are in your team. Whether it’s two, or twenty, list all of them, you will show people you have nothing to hide this way. When listing your team’s members, use full names instead of nicknames, also include photos of people and short bio about each person in your team. If you want, also provide visitors with links to Facebook and Twitter pages of your team’s members, so if visitors will be interested in learning more about each person in your group, they’ll have a way to do so.
This way, you’re also telling visitors that they can trust your website and group members, as you’re showing real information and real only :).
Current cases
You should also list your current cases, by doing so, people will see that there’s some activity going on and your group is not dead yet :). Name a case, post a short description, city or town name and list members who’re investigating the specific case. Just remember not to post too many information regarding each case, remember about privacy of people you’re helping.
Archive of cases (with some stats)
In the same way you’re displaying current cases, list all archived cases – whether they’re closed with or without explanation. Include some stats, don’t ask website visitors to think too much, give them simple way to see how many cases you had, how many investigations you performed, how many hours you spent in action and what kind of cases you had (intelligent haunting, poltergeist, demonic haunting perhaps). Let people know they’re dealing with professionals.
Disclaimer, Terms of Service and Privacy Policy
Threat your group as service. Put in a visible place disclaimer, terms of service and privacy policy. Inform people how do you protect their personal data such phone numbers and addresses, tell them how you operate and what they can expect, also don’t hesitate to put information what you get for your work, if you earn money make this information public, left nothing to hide.
What else
- Ads, t-shirts for sale etc. – if you have a way to earn some money for example by putting some non-invasive ads on your site, do this. Just remember to post information that the money are financing your team’s operations (they do, right?).
- Phone number and/or online form – make it easy for people to contact case managers and ask for help. Don’t hide contact information, also if you’re a legal, registered group/society also put an info on your site.
- Testimonials – if someone sent you his or her good opinion about your group, use it and post some testimonial in visible place :).
That’s pretty it :). Do you have some other ideas as to what should be placed on such website? Or even better, what should not be put on paranormal investigation’s team’ website?
