My understanding of magic
For the question “what is magic” each one of you will have an answer. We all have associations with rituals, black cats and witches, some of you might associate word “magic” with Wicca (but I’m not the one to decide if this is correct or wrong association). Without dealing too much with different terms and associations, I want to present you my understanding of magic. You see, I believe magic is something psychic development for undisciplined people. Being a psychis is about feelings
How can you believe in something you can’t touch, you can’t smell, and you can’t feel physically? When someone is telling you it’s raining outside, you’re heading for a window to see the rain for yourself. As human beings, we are programmed to confirm our beliefs with physical sensations. But in case of psychic abilities, it’s nearly impossible. You can’t see the energy (at least not as a total newbie, and even if you have many years of experience, it might be difficult), you can’t hear spirits. It’s probably another reason why psychokinesis is so popular – it’s a physical manifestation of psychic phenomenon, people can see it with their own eyes and therefore, they can believe it is real. Another reason why developing skills among other people is a good thing. (more…)
How to choose divination system that will suit you
How to choose divination system that will suit you is a very popular question among people who want to start their adventure with divination. At first, it’s not an easy question, besides classic Tarot, Runes, I Ching and classic Scrying and Palmistry, we also recognise abacomancy (a method of divination using patterns of dust), alectromancy (the art of divination by using a cock or hen), aleuromancy (the art of divination using flour), alomancy (the art of divination using salt), anthropomancy (AKA necromancy, a method of divination by raising the dead or interpreting the movements of a dead person’s entrails), astragalomancy (a method of divination by throwing dice or bones), axinomancy (a method of divination involving an axe), belomancy (a method of divination using arrows), botanomancy (a method of divination using burning herbs), brontoscopy (a method of divination by listening to the sound of thunder), capnomancy (a method of divination by interpreting patterns of smoke), cartomancy (any method of divination using playing cards), ceroscopy (a method of divination using melted wax poured into cold water), cleidomancy (any method of divination using a key), cleromancy (any method of divination using dice), dactyliomancy, demonomancy, extispicy, hydromancy, pyromancy (and xylomancy), xenomancy, zoomancy and zygomancy – total of 29 different divination systems and who knows how many more there might be, uff* :). I will tell you a story about The Temple
Sometimes you’re so tired of everything around you the only thing you want to do next is to run away. Find a shelter, a personal sanctuary where you will be totally alone and no one will disturb you. Some of you might have some sort of summer house, others might have a sanctuary inside of their minds. Tell me, have you ever heard about “The Beach” or “The Zone” or other “imagined” place when exploring the world of psychic phenomena? Most psychics will tell you they have such place, appearing in front of their closed eyes whenever they want. I didn’t understood what all of this is about until I found my own place of this kind. The Norse Runes have spoken
I am often asking Norse Runes for advices regarding different matters, and it wasn’t any different when I decided to write for A State of Mind again. I decided to use the technique known as The Rune of Odin, in this technique you’re picking up only one Rune from the bag, and you’re using it when you have a simple question, or you’re not seeking very complex advices (well, this explanation is very basic, but you have a picture now – he Rune of Odin equals simple and fast question :P). Brave new world
So I’m back, some of you might like this, some might not :). But for those who think I will keep writing about psychics as usual, I have a bad news. To this point, I was exploring this mysterious world of psychic phenomenon based primary on old PsiPog and UPC websites, engaging the OPC on forums and chats. But as I already wrote, current Online Psionic Community have nothing more to offer me, therefore from now on, I will talk mostly about psychic phenomenon based on other sources. (more…)
